Established in 1894.  Located in southeastern Bergen County, the borough has welcomed different cultures and backgrounds throughout the years, giving this community its diverse identity.  The name Fairview comes from the picturesque view across the Hackensack River Valley.  Known landmark in Fairview is Columbus Park and the Fairview Train Tunnel.  The town offers Pre-K and Kindergarten in The Annex, grades 1-3 in Number 3 School and grades 4-8 in the Lincoln School. For grades 9-12, public school students from Fairview attend Cliffside Park High School in Cliffside Park as part of sending/receiving relationship with the Cliffside Park School District.
