Moonachie is a small town with a population of just under 3,000 residents. The Township of Moonachie is in close proximity to New York City and numerous major roadways, including the far-reaching Garden State Parkway, and offers fast commute times to both Manhattan and points throughout Bergen County. Its is a small and quiet residential community offering its residents numerous parks and recreation activities. Its also has a strong school system and a variety of shopping and dining options both within the community and in surrounding towns in Bergen County.
The Moonachie Public School District offers a strong educational system and has just one school for all elementary aged students. Families with students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade send their children to the Robert L. Craig School, which is located in Moonachie itself. High school students attend Wood-Ridge High School, which is located in the neighboring borough of Wood-Ridge and part of the Wood-Ridge School District.
