Oradell is a small but beautiful borough Bergen County with a population of about 8,000 people. The borough has an area of just under 2.5 square miles, and its territory includes a dam on the Hackensack River that forms the Oradell Reservoir. The borough is bordered by the Reservoir, as well as the municipalities of Emerson and New Milford.

There are several golf clubs in close proximity to Oradell, including the Ridgewood Country Club, Haworth Country Club and White Beaches Golf and Country Club, and Emerson Country Club. The borough also offers a variety of services, such as a public library and recreation programs for all ages.

Public transportation by New Jersey Transit is available via the Pascack Valley line at the Oradell train station located at Oradell and Maple Avenues.

The Oradell Public School system is highly regarded. Students in kindergarten through sixth grade in one school, The Oradell Public School.Students in grades seven through twelve attend the River Dell Regional School District along with students from nearby River Edge.

This borough of about 8,000 people snuggled up against the Oradell Reservoir, on the Hackensack River, between Emerson & New Milford, was incorporated in 1894 as Delford, New Jersey. It was Daniel Demarest, Oradell's second mayor, who is credited with giving the community its present name.
 

The Borough of Oradell was founded in 1894 as the Borough of Delford.   Some 24 years later, the name was changed by way of referendum to Oradell.   Oradell evokes an old time home-town feel with its unique charm.   One family homes provide the majority of housing in the borough.   There are some multi-family and town homes, mostly along Kinderkamack Road where most businesses in town are located.

Blauvelt Mansion, The Bergen County Players, the Oradell Reservoir and Van Buskirk Island in the Hackensack River are some of the attractions to be found in Oradell.   Oradell was once home to legendary NFL coaches Vince Lombardi and Bill Parcells.
