Paramus is well known for its shopping and entertainment options. It is also only 13 miles from New York City. Paramus, New Jersey is a ten and a half square mile city with a population of approximately 27,000 residents. The city is located in the center of Bergen County and is in close proximity to the Garden State Parkway and routes 4 and 17, allowing convenient commutes to both New York City and points throughout Bergen County.

Paramus provides numerous educational opportunities, and offers both public and private schools. The Paramus Public School District serves students in Kindergarten through twelfth grade and includes five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. Three of the District’s schools have been designated National Blue Ribbon Schools: Paramus High School, Parkway Elementary School and Ridge Ranch Elementary School.
Paramus is also home to Paramus Catholic High School, the largest Roman Catholic high school in the State of New Jersey, Yavneh Academy, a Jewish day school and the Frisch School, a Modern Orthodox Jewish Yeshiva serving high school students. Bergen Community College is also located within the city of Paramus.

On April 4, 1922, the Borough was incorporated. It is a residential community and a retail center for the surrounding region.
